Constructed between 1982/83 a batch of 40 of these PXAs were built by Procor at Horbury Junction. Using Schlieren bogies recovered from redundant TEA tanks. With a pay load of 73 tonnes these wagons at 58' long are an impressive sight.

used in sheerness traffic till 1995,  when 15 were then leased to BSC  and modified at stoke to have sectional lids cut from scrap TTA barrels to prevent galvanised scrap from escaping the load when used between shotgun and Port talbot steel works.

many of the remaining 25 were then leased to EMR to carry scrap from across the country to Liverpool docks for export.
