This small fleet of 6 wagons were converted from redundant PFA conflats by marcroft in 1999 and fitted with translift turntables used for the movement of scrap metal on flows from Plymouth to South Wales, using conventional roll on roll off skips, the concept being no waste transfer facility or licence was required as the skips never touched the ground.
This wagon is modelled on a rake used for EMR traffic to Tidal sidings Cardiff around 2004. Also seen in rakes of about 6 with tarpaulin hoods to prevent blow away debris when carrying aluminium scrap on a separate flow between Arpley and Burrows sidings, Swansea.
the kit is a one piece resin chassis with a fold up metal compensation unit included, and a resin skip body.
This is a development model and can be pre ordered if required.
Requires skaters 7122d Wheels to fit the compensation unit.
no transfers have been commissioned to date,
a die die cast roll on roll off in1:43 is available on eBay and can be used to replicate the waste transfer.
